Will you please help me with these math problems?
If 9 is subtracted from 2-thirds of a number, the result is 7. Find the number.
The circumference of a circle is 132 yds. Find the radius using Pi=22/7.
Nine pounds of potatoes cost the same as 6 pounds of apples. One pound of potatoes costs twice as much as a pound of onion, while a pound of apples costs 24 cents more than a pound of onions. Find the cost of each.

Express two thirds of a number as 2X/3, where the / means divide.
So you can write an equation 2x/3 - 9 = 7
Solve that equation (hint multiply every term by 3 first to get rid of the division.)
Circumference is 2 X Pi X Radius, so plug in the numbers you know,
132 = 2 X 22/7 X R
Third question: p = potatoes, n = onions, a = apples
Write equations from each sentence:
9p = 6a
p = 2n
a = n+24
The second equation says potatoes = 2 times onions, so we can substitute 2n for p.
Likewise we can substitute n+24 for a. Use these substitutions in the first equation.
9p = 6a
9(2n) = 6 (n+24)
When you solve that for n, you will know the cost of a pound of onions and find the cost of the other two.
