Wood Cutout
How can I create a more beachy/surfer atmosphere in my bedroom?
I recently painted my room bright blue because I wanted more beachy feel to it. I have light colored wood floors and white crown molding, doors, etc. I want to create a minimalist look that reminds me of the beach. I really want to avoid tacky things (like a huge hula skirted lady cutout or fake bamboo furniture). Any advice would be great.

Instead of buying more paint or looking for a craft project for your walls, simply accent with various things. Try these ideas for under $60.00!!!
You can get a string of lights that look like Hibiscus Flowers (Hawaii state flower), and hang that across the wall over your bed or around your window. [Approx. $25.00]
There are wall art pictures that come in 10 foot sections that have "Beachy" prints on them. That can accent the lower portion of one or more walls in your room. Maybe the wall behind the bed or your dresser (they are only about 3 to 4 feet tall and make a great back-drop). [Approx. $25.00]
Another easy project would be a collage of pictures from travel magazines and Surfer magazines. Tropical Pictures of Beaches, Palm trees and the ocean behind. 2 Magazines [Approx. $10.00]
