Tri Color
I'm looking to buy a female Tri color beagle puppy. Any ideas where I can get one?
I would like a breeder, no puppy mill puppies. Also it would be nice to know that the puppies parents aren't their mother and brother if you know what I mean.The breader deffinatley has to be on Long Island, New York, as I can't travel or pay flight expenses. Plus, I'd like to see it before I buy it.

This offers multiple suggestions including checking with local rescues and shelters. Springtime is prime PUPPY season and you'd be surprised at the number of puppies available at local shelters.
You might try entering this search string into Google:
beagle rescue (insert YOUR zip code)
this will bring up local rescues that more than likely will be able to assist you.
No matter what, DO NOT RESPOND TO ONLINE ADS to find a 'reputible' breeder!!
Search your local area for upcoming dog shows and attend. Seek out those showing beagles and talk with them about breeder suggestions but do not expect to get a puppy within a week or even a month. Most 'reputible' breeders have waiting lists and after completing an application, you may have your name added for the next litter.
Remember, anyone can sell puppies with 'papers.' Papers DO NOT GUARANTEE a healthy pet!
If dealing with a breeder, Insist on seeing the mother AND the father and if the breeder gives excuses or can't produce the parents, walk away. Additionally, any breeder offering several different breeds should be a red flag.
Of course it goes without saying: never, ever buy a puppy from a pet store.
