Solid Grosgrain
I have an unhealthy amount of pretty ribbon, any ideas on how to use it?
I really like ribbon, but I rarely use it in crafts. So over the years, I've collected tons of it, thick, thin, satin, grosgrain, patterned, solid, organza, even felt. Does anyone know of any neat crafts or greeting card designs that use ribbon? I really want a good use for my patterned ribbon and grosgrain, as those are a little too stiff to wear.

Oh, also, any kind of craft is good, except scrapbooking. I don't know what I have against scrapbooking, I just never liked it haha.

1: Save some for wrapping presents for birthdays/Christmas/whatever. You'll be so annoyed if you don't.
2: Take at least two colours/patterns of ribbon that look good together. Weave them together so you have a panel (as big or small as you like) and put some small stitches in so the ribbons stay together. Make another panel, then sew them together on three of the edges. Voila! You now have a beautiful one of a kind bag. These would also make great gifts.
3: Make bookmarks. Just cut the ribbons on the slant, hem them, and you're good to go. You could also embroider them, stitch on beads, add tassels, etc. Just let your imagination free!
4: Get one of those small, plain wooden boxes (the kind with a lid) from the craft store. Use glue to attach strips of ribbon all over the top, in crisscross patterns, or even use thin ribbons to make a shape (like a star)! Now you have a beautiful treasure box.
5: This is really cute for young girly-girls. Buy plain barrettes from the dollar store or Target. Make tiny bows with thin ribbons and put a dot of Hot Glue or Super Glue on them to hold them together. Glue them to the barrettes. You can also do this with headbands, a lot of little bows or one medium sized one.
6: Homemade hair scrunchies are another option! Lay a strip of thick ribbon flat on the table. I'm afraid I don't remember the exact length it needs to be but I believe it's around 6 inches. Take a peice of stretchy elastic(like the kind found in the waistband of sweatpants. You should be able to get it at a sewing store) the same length as the ribbon. Put a line of hot glue in the center of the ribbon going from one end to the other (horizontal) and stick the elastic down. Sew or glue a matching peice of ribbon to the first one. You can use the same colour, contrasting colours, anything that looks good so long as they're the same width. Now sew or glue the ends together so you have a circle.
7: Use thick ribbons (or braided thin/medium ribbons) to add new straps to purses.
