14 month got a Sugar Glider bite on finger (infected)?
My 14 month old daughter stuck her finger in the cage and got bit on her cuticle. It's swollen and has pus in it. I squeezed some of it out but it so sore! I soaked it in peroxide for 10 minutes, wiped it with an alcohol prep pad, put Neosporin on it and then a band aid. Does anyone know if SG bites are horrible? Like worse than dog bites? They are exotic animals... I'm scared. The medical center won't see her because I have a bill there. Will it clear it up on it's own?
She needs to go to the doctor, this is not something that you can handle at home, the bite is infected and needs treatment. Do you live in the USA? If so, and you meet the qualifications, you can get Medicaid for your child. You could also possibly take her to your local health department for treatment. Good Luck!
PS. Also stop using the hydrogen peroxide. It actually hinders the healing process. It is a debreding agent, meaning, it gets like dirt and stuff out of wounds.
