Iridescent Double
Fostoria glassware wine glasses. What is the origin of the different sizes?
Sorry about double posting, but I wasn't sure of the best category. I read somewhere on the net that Fostoria basically "invented" purposes for their wine glasses that were manufactured/sold during prohibition. For example, there was/is a stemmed "water glass" that resembles in size a typical wine glass; the stemmed "sherbet" glass is actually a champagne glass; the smaller stemmed glass is a "communion wine glass", etc. I have these stemmed "multipurpose" glasses in 4 different sizes (and they are beautiful, "Mother of Pearl, iridescent, manufacturing stopped in 1920.) Any information?
