Eye Feathers
My male canary is losing feathers around the eye? Please answer!!!?
I really don't want him to die. He is 6 years old and is losing feathers around the eye. the skin that is left is brown and grusome. He has not eaten as much as before, and when I give him his favorite seed, (it had a very tough shell) and it took him a long time to crack it, when it used to take him a few seconds. Now I have to sorta crack it for him.
Hi I agree with the other answers but you will find that the bird is rubbing its face on the perch take out these and wash dry and put the cream on the perch and the bird will apply its own .. but note that 6 years old is an older bird and will start to look a little feather-less sometimes.. also keep away from other birds in own cage..try a good conditioning seed mix will sometimes perk them up ie small amounts only its small seeds...
