What is this style of drawing/art called?
It is the style used in the images of the presidents on the dollar bills. It involves drawing, etching, carving, or placing (in any way or form) lines together to create shape; and consequently putting them together closer to create dark areas, as in a shaded area.
I've been using this style of drawing for about 20 years, but I first learned it in high school and I have forgotten over time what it is called.

I think you are talking about crosshatching.
