cost of wood....................?
im making a jewelry box to pass the time and i was trying to find prices of different types of wood on the internet but i cant.
i need one piece of wood 9"x36"x1/2"
im trying to find an aromatic wood (cedar, sandalwood, cherry, mahogany, cypress, oak) and price doesn't matter. if you could help me find some ballpark prices that would be great...it'd be better if you could tell me which type of wood you think smells best as well 
im also wondering about staining and sealing it. i heard that some stains can compliment the smell and coatings usually block it. i was thinking about just waxing the wood so it can age and look better over time but i still have no idea for the stain.
i was also thinking of lining it with something to protect my wifes jewelry (shes not very careful)...
Go to Lowes or Home Depot the wood should cost under $20 ask them about the stains or oils they have. They will also be able to cut it for you. Someone there should be able to help you. When I make little boxes like that I use some foam to line the box and glue some felt to it.
